More About Yolanda
I am committed to walking alongside clients as they navigate anxiety, depression, grief, substance use, and other life stressors. With warmth, empathy, and a strengths-based approach, I support individuals ages 17 and up in working through mental health concerns, trauma, addiction, and personal growth. Through a cross-cultural lens and fluency in both English and Spanish, I strive to create an affirming space where clients from all backgrounds feel seen, respected, and empowered. Many clients come seeking greater self-understanding or support through life transitions and leave with stronger coping skills and a deeper sense of purpose.
Counseling Approach
I blend evidence-based practices with a collaborative, client-centered style that helps people build insight, develop emotional resilience, and find meaningful change. I tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs and goals, drawing from:
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - Identify and transform unhelpful thought patterns that impact mood and behavior.
Trauma-Informed Care - Work through trauma at your own pace in a safe, validating environment.
Mindfulness-Based Techniques - Ground yourself in the present and manage stress more effectively.
Strengths-Based Counseling - Harness your existing abilities and values to support growth and healing.
Multicultural and Bilingual Counseling - Receive therapy that honors cultural context and offers support in English or Spanish.
Why Choose Yolanda?
I bring a deep respect for each client’s story, culture, and identity. My integrative approach is grounded in authenticity, empathy, and a strong belief in the capacity for change. As a bilingual, multicultural counselor, I am especially passionate about serving diverse communities and creating inclusive therapeutic spaces where all clients feel heard and valued.
I work with adults from all walks of life, including individuals from the LGBTQ+ community, people with physical disabilities, and those of any ethnic, religious, or political background. I do not currently work with children, adolescents, or individuals with certain personality or psychotic disorders.
